To the health and safety of my amazing family. he pauses, gaze wandering to zhongli for a precious moment, his lips curving up into a smile. [ he turns his head, chasing after another kiss as he brings his hand to zhongliās cheek. ] I think itāll be fine. Although if youād like to make another wish, maybe something we can come up with together, thenā¦ [ he drops a kiss on his lips and stands to pluck one out of the sky. ]
[ And once the wishes are attached to said lanterns, Zhongli laces his fingers with Childe and moves to stand up so they can make their way to the edge of the roof. ]
[ turns his head to kiss zhongli's cheek again. ] Alright, let's do this. [ he lifts his lantern up, letting the breeze catch it, as he leans more heavily into zhongli to watch it rise into the air. ]
[ It's beautiful. Simply breathtaking. As Zhongli watches the moon and starlight catch the dragon and the narwhale dancing across the paper - the other lanterns mere specks of bright light in the distance.
It's truly astounding how even this small slice of Liyue can give him such a calming sense of peace and a painful stab of yearning. Perhaps today more than ever, he misses his home country just that much more.
(And what of Childe who has not been home in months if not years...)
He tilts his head to rest it on Childe's shoulder. And if his eyes are damp, he tries not to call attention to it. ]
[ childe moves an arm around zhongli's waist to hold him in place against himself, eyes glittering in the brilliant lights of all of the different lanterns. he keeps his gaze on their lantern for the longest though, watching as it drifts off... taking their wishes with it. ] Anything to make you smile, Zhongli Xiansheng. [ he turns to kiss the crown of his head. ] ...love you.
Happy Lantern Rite, Zhongli. [ heās not going to call attention to it, and instead just tighten his grip as he continues watching the lanterns float further and further away. ]
