It must be my lucky day. I'm finally getting my battle from you, Emet-Selch. [ childe dashes forward, becoming no more than a blur against the snowy haze as it continues to fall. he dodges the first few spears with ease, but as he gets closer it gets harder, so the last one cuts into his arm. does he care, not really, because his bow is morphing into a spear of his own and he's trying to run it straight through emet. ]
[ a maniacal laugh erupts from the depths as heās bound⦠at least for a fraction of a second. his spear turns back into water, splashing onto the ground and he forms into a ball of concentrated hydro to free himself, shooting backward and taking shape with another laugh. his hydro bow is back in hand and he immediately starts firing it at emet, the first few shots nothing special, but after a couple moments they start crackling with electricity. ]
Not at all. Iām having plenty fun as is. [ the bow morphs into a pair of swords and childe is about to dash at emet when the shield starts forming around him. he quickly snaps the swords together, forming a spear and holding it in such a way that the shield canāt further encroach on him, but it seems like heās trapped. ] Donāt tell me youāre already tiredā¦
[ sparks start flying in the ācageā, the amount of electricity building as childe dons his mask. time to see if emetās shield can withstand an electro explosion. ]
[Sparks will stay contained with the shield. The area about him flashing with purple light alighting the snow around his feet in its glow.
But it will shatter raining down shards about him to mix in with the snow.
Emet simply sighs.]
Not tired, but I do not fight for fun. Sometimes it is a performance, but I doubt you would be interested in that. And I am reaching the limit of what this mortal shell will allow.
I thought I'd give you a little fun before I crush you.
[The last part is absolutely dramatically said for Childe's benefit.]
ā¦tsk tsk tsk. Making assumptions about me⦠again. I do love a good performance too, and thatās why the grand finale is going to be mine-! [ his laughter warps a bit as the world around them starts to change. the snow melts and the colors bleed, swirling into a different backdrop⦠one thatās significantly more vibrant, liyue! ]
[ with an excess of water to play with childe summons caeli, the hydro narwhal, and the massive creature breaches out of the ground, ready to crash right on top of emet if heās not careful. ]
[Well, having a whale dropped on him is not something he would expect, so that steals his retort as it lands on him. Though before it does a red sigil glows in front of his face.
Though if he was hoping for a satisfied squishing sound instead he it seems the area in which Emet was standing has just sprung a leak, and purple and black miasma fill the area.
[ big! the size of a normal whale, but made entirely of water! he smirks as it crashes into the ground and floods the area, the water skirting around him as he notes the miasma. ]
ā¦neat trick. [ summons a spear and moves closer⦠to poke it. ]
[He will try to simply pick him up in his free hand. He's probably just shy of the size of the whale being around 18 ft tall himself. Childe probably comes up to his knee.]
As if you yourself are not full of suprises.
[Even though a mask covers his face, the voice is distinctly Emet's.]
Youāre not going to squish me, are you, ⦠[ heās still on guard and not sure how he feels about being picked up, but itās not like heās going to have much of a choice when emet is so much bigger than he is. ]
Hey now. I am *more* than a pesky acquaintance and my overly large fish is a celestial narwhal. You wound me, Emet, and after I put on such an incredible finale for you.
There is a seat on the Convocation, the Office of Mitron. His domain is all things aquatic. Truthfully, I couldn't count the number of times I tripped over his shark theme creations just to name a few of them.
And I do jest. It is a majestic creature, and I would not show this form to just anyone.
I care a great deal about the ocean and its inhabitants because of the nature of my vision, though, hilariously enough, I hadn't been thrilled to get it to start. I had wanted one from my beloved Tsaritsa. I mean, c'mon, giving somebody like me, who lives in the snowy nation of Snezhnaya, a Hydro Vision? A cruel joke at best.
[ he doesn't move off emet's hand. ] I appreciate you showing it to me. Could you tell me more about it.
I would have though hydro and ice would have been sister elements. Complementary. Though in our elemental alignment there is only only ice to encompass both.
[He ponders the request for a moment. The staff in his hand does ring of 'religion' or at least it is a statue to something.]
Tsaritsa... Would you consider them a god? And if so, how do they interact with you. I am not evading your question. It would help provide context for my own answer.
I can kind of see that, and⦠yes, the Tsaritsa is one of the Seven - the gods of the realm of Teyvat who each hold dominion over one of the elements. And it depends on the nation, because all the Archons are different. In Mondstadt, the nation of freedom, their archon has a hands off approach, letting the people govern themselves. Im on of the Tsaritsaās Harbingers, tasked with carrying out her will, so I have had an audience with her several dozen times. Im loyal to her and my nation and will do what I can to see her dream recognized.
By gods I imagine they are immortal beings, however, you speak as if they have mortal tendencies. Perhaps they are closer to you than overseeing gods.
Though you speak fondly of Tsaritsa. I have met few gods here I actually like. Most are useless or selfish things. I hope to be proven wrong with yours.
I am immortal. Though it isn't anything special. Back in that age everyone was. While we have physical forms, we are being of aether and able to manipulate that and form it to our whim. My normal form is probably three times as tall as yours, but you'll find our characteristics not so uncommon. This form I use when I have a particularly difficult problem. It is better suited to wield magic.
Immortalish. Dying is absolutely something they're capable of... though I imagine it's not easy to end their lives as their power is so much more immense than, say, mine. [ something he aims to eventually change! ] I might have a vision, but it's just a fraction of the Archon who gifted its power.
[ laughs. ] You're not wrong. But I do believe the Tsaritsa is different. I wouldn't have pledged myself to her cause if I didn't believe in it with every fiber of my being.
Could you show it to me sometime? Your normal form, that is. And that's what my Foul Legacy form is for; particularly difficult situations. I like this form of yours though. It's certainly very interesting and nothing like I've seen before.
[ hums, hopping off his hand. ] Perhaps you'll get an opportunity to ask her yourself. [ flicks his tail against emet's hand as he turns, reaching up toward his face. ] Let me help with that then... [ the world warps around them once again, twisting into something more comfortable and cozy. ] Have a seat. [ motions to the newly materialized couch. ]
ā¦look at you. [ he takes a seat and opens his arms with flourish, dragging emet into his lap once heās come close enough. ] I donāt flirt with just anybody you know. [ loops his arms around his waist, locking them at his lower back to hold him in place. ] ā¦so I guess that means youāre special.
Re: Day 386
Re: Day 386
It is the least I can do.
[Chains spring out from the ground and try to grab his spear and limbs to bind him.]
Re: Day 386
Re: Day 386
[The first arrow strikes his shield putting hairline cracks in it. Knowing it won't survive long from such a combo, he teleports behind him.]
You are free to change into that other form, you know.
Re: Day 386
Is there a reason you're suddenly so keen on seeing me in that form?
Re: Day 386
Though another form appears on the open, snowy plain in a purple cloud. The effort to reform another mortal coil taking no small amount of energy.]
Would it not be more fun for you?
[Holding out his hand as a shimmering shield begins to form around Caeli this time. To cage him in.]

Re: Day 386
Is this what you really look like?
Re: Day 386
My form is not fixed as yours is. There is an amount of molding I can accomplish as my being is more aether than mortal flesh.
This is the form I use to deal with pesky acquaintances and their overly large fish.

Might I ask what her cause is?
[He pauses and then kneels so he can hop off his hand.]
My back is bad enough in the waking world so I will mimic it at something more akin to your size.

[His form does shift into a purple haze again before its shorter than Caeli. He's wearing a plain black robe and his hair is completely white.]
How kind.
[He waits for Caeli to sit so he can sit on his lap.]
