That is probably true.

But that does not account for how truly bright your smile is when you are genuinely surprised at something thoughtful being presented to you.

Maybe this time I'll buy... [ eventually gives up on the bottle and takes the glass, taking a few sips as he tries to crank out an idea. ] Maybe I'll get you tea. All of it. Every tea. Ever.

[ childe scoots just a little bit closer, his ears twitching to zhongli's ministrations. I'm not going to say no, Xiansheng. I would never. And I do love all the gifts you give me... [ turns his head to kiss his cheek. ] But you're still my favorite.

[ Moves his fingers to scritch right behind those ears of his. With his other hand he takes out his phone and starts typing up something in the dorm request section. Luckily he never pays attention to how much he wins from games so he has the funds for this. ]

But do tell me - what is your favorite season?

[ childe just inadvertently leans into zhongli's scritches. ] Mmm.

My favorite season? I would have to say either fall or spring. I get plenty of winter back home, so as much as I enjoy the snow and all the activities to be done in it I can't exactly say it's my favorite. It's been nice to experience other types of weather, even if some of them are way too hot. [ looking at you, liyue. it's probably not even that hot, he's just bad at heat. ]

I enjoy the mild temperatures and both of them are so colorful. Whether the flowers are blooming or the leaves are falling. I like them both, and taking a stroll with some good company with that as the backdrop just sounds perfect to me.

[ Zhongli takes notes, painstakingly typing up a request that is much longer than the normal. And throughout all of his writing, he continues to pet Childe affectionately, lips quirking into a smile as he imagines Childe being able to enjoy all of those things anytime he wants. ]

A pity the heat is your least favorite.

You look so endearing with a flush of color across your freckles.

Come on now, Xiansheng, you spoil me plenty. Without even realizing it, apparently. It's not just about buying things. [ sets a hand on the phone he used to make the purchase. ] You're always there when I need you, and even when I don't realize I need you, like after the bad games...

[ he scoots closer, moving to lay his head on his shoulder. ] I'm glad you came. [ he grabs at his shoulder, digging his nails in. ] I don't want to lose anybody else.

It's going to take some time for this sadness to settle... sensei was one of my first friends here, so it... just hits harder... [ he trails off, purring quietly as he bumps his head up into zhongli's hand. ] I love you, Xiansheng. [ turns, slipping both of his arms around him and mashing his face into zhongli's chest. ]

[ he laughs, reaching for zhongli's head and gliding his fingers through his hair. ] He also helped nudge me into confessing to you, you know...
