I did, but it’s… complicated.

Just like I had met a version of you I met a version of him, but it wasn’t the same one from my Teyvat… if that makes sense. A different series of events had happened, causing a number of serious changes. But we grew close and… a- anyway, Mochi might be the one from my Teyvat and while we’ve both experienced a number of things since we last saw each other there it’s hard to completely feel… nothing…

I can’t imagine I’m explaining this anything but poorly… [ childe sighs, combing his fingers through his hair. ]

It has been a day for you, hasn't it? How can you not be tired?

As trying as it’s been… I’m still pretty wound up. But if you’re tired don’t let me stop you.

His story is his to tell. But I worry for him. And I will admit, I worry for you.

…mm. I know some of what happened, but we’re not close enough that I would bring it up unprompted. If nothing else, I just want him to be happy. [ he deserves it then and he deserves it now. ]

Have you always felt this way? Even back in your home?

Maybe not as intensely. Most of us Harbingers don’t care for each other, because we’re all there for our own reasons… but I always enjoyed sparring with him, when he’d indulge me, of course, and I had even gotten to see another side of him once or twice. It was cute, eye-opening too…

But, ah h- Hah, I’m pretty sure he couldn’t stand me though… [ a forced laugh that tapers quickly. ]

I don't think he was in a place to notice. But he is now.

I’m doing what I can. Only time will tell whether or not I’m successful doing either. [ he goes over to the bed and takes a seat. ]

[ he might not be physically tired, but he’s emotionally drained. ]

[He stays where he is, resting his head in his arms.]

Are you afraid that you won't be able to?

I am, actually. I’m not as concerned about myself. I don’t really have any doubts there. I made a promise and I intend to keep it, and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to see it to the end. But as for Mochi… there’s something special about his smile, and I want to see it over and over and over. I just don’t know what will happen here. I can only try. [ which is exactly what he plans to do, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a little worried. ]

[ he pats the spot on the bed beside him. ]

[He does not move to join.]

You are setting yourself up for heartbreak. But I suppose, who am I to judge.

Do you have any immediate needs? This rooms provide the basics and only just that.

Maybe. [ probably. ] And some of the ruins are still locked, so I can’t do much to make it better, but… I haven’t eaten in a while…

[ he catches the apple. ] I appreciate the gesture, but… not for conventional food. [ once again he pats the spot beside him. ] You wanted my name, but how about I tell you a little bit more about myself first~

[He waves a hand.]

[ childe laughs, holding his sides. ] No, not at all. I still eat normal food, but now and then I have to drink blood.
