[ ajax had fallen into the abyss months, no, years ago... and since then skirk had taken him on as her student, teaching him the foul legacy technique and helping him to hone his skills, so that he was a incredibly deadly and effective killing machine. ]

[ however, there was still a foe that he was having trouble tracking and killing... the abyssal whale. for such a huge create it sure made itself scarce. ajax was sure that he had finally tracked it down, but when he was about to engage it he was attacked from behind by one of the heralds, who were some of the more dangerous bastards. ]

I'm a little busy here. Fuck off. [ he scowled, clashing blades as the creature laughed mockingly. ]

[ It's only been a few months since his mother died protecting Inazuma, and despite such a monumental sacrifice, the portal from which the Abyss creatures invaded is still very much active. They're chasing the same prey — but for Yuuri, making sure the whale lands somewhere else is more important than revenge.

As much as he'd like to kill the monster, the safety of Inazuma falls on his shoulders now, and he can't be reckless. ... Or so he'd like to say, because when he sees what he assumes is a civilian child engaging in battle and being far outnumbered, his instincts take over and he's moving before he can think better of it.

There's a flash of lighting, a fracture in the air itself as blades made of pure electro slice through each of those heralds. ]

[ ajax startles as soon as he hears the crackle of lightning. he's not expecting another person? the herald manages to stab him, leaving ajax reeling and staggering back as he drops to his knees. blood pours through his fingers as he holds his face, his vision blurring as the battle continues - more monsters flooding to the chaos, because it's what they crave. just what the hell is going on? ]

[ ajax wants to continue to fight, but his strength is leaving him and the world is beginning to spin around him. ]

[ This person ... is not from Inazuma. he can't possibly have fallen into the portal there - he was already in the abyss? But how is that possible? Not that it matters - he sees him getting injured and he makes his way to him, barking orders at the soldier who came with him — and then immediately grabbing onto him.

But although the whale gets away from them, they survive this mission, and when Ajax wakes up - he will find himself in as much of a comfortable place they can be considering they are in the Abyss, still ]

[ ajax isn't sure how much time has passed between when he passes out and when he comes to, but he knows that most of the danger has passed. however, he's not out of the water yet. he sits up with a start and immediately summons a hydro blade, turning it on his supposed savior. he doesn't know this person, and he doesn't know their story. not yet. he can't make any assumptions. for all he knows they could have saved him just to torture information out of him. ]

Who are you and what do you want?

[ he's still got one of his eyes closed, the one he... lost. he hates this. he hates that he's still so weak despite everything that skirk taught him. ]

Shouldn't you be the one to answer that? This isn't a place for a child.

[ he doesn't seem to look scared by the hydro blade, but his gaze does go to the eye he just lost ]

Were you sucked into a portal?

No. I don't have too answer to you. [ he keeps the blade up and moves back a bit. ] I'm not a child. [ not anymore. ]

I fell in some time ago. [ he doesn't know how long it's been. time is weird here and he stopped counting. it doesn't seem to even matter. he's sure his family's given up looking... and that might be for the best. ]

Right now I'm your best bet at finding a way out of this place. Of course you have to answer to me.

… [ he doesn’t trust him, but he also hasn’t tried to gut him, so maybe he’s not so bad. most abyss creates don’t bother to stand around and converse. even the heralds who can talk don’t usually bother. ]

[ He's not going to tell this random person his full identity. ... But he can probably tell the name his mother gave him ]

I came into the portal to hunt that whale you were trying to fight. It got away, but it's not close to our territory now.

[ he takes a step forward. ] What are you going to do? [ he knows there isn’t much he can do. his eye is damaged. ]

[ he brings both hands to Ajax's face, examining his eye. ...He really should not get involved in any of this, but he couldn't save him in time. It's his fault if this child lost his eye.

There's a pause and he rests his head against his forehead - electro energy surging through his body, the marks glowing brightly as it does. And then that energy gets channeled to Ajax's face, to where his eyes was just a little while ago - filling it ]

[ ajax is about to ask him what he is, if not human, but he startles and goes stock still as soon as the electro energy is funneled into him. he balls his fists and grits his teeth, almost feeling overwhelmed. ]

[ once he’s finished he immediately brings a hand to his face, getting it a bloody mess as he rapidly blinks. it feels like he can see again. what did… ] What are you?!

Just a creature from Inazuma. Are humans from wherever you live so loud and ungrateful? You're a bad mannered child.

[ he hands him a small piece of cloth so he can wipe his face, but does get up ]

The portal we cam through is still open, and it will remain so for a little while longer. If you want to get out you should join me.

… [ he huffs, ] I am not. I just haven’t seen another person besides my teacher in… I don’t even know how long. And she doesn’t talk much. [ he takes the cloth and starts wiping his face. ] It’s just… different, having somebody not immediately try to kill me. I’ve forgotten what it’s like, but it’s nice. I… I think I miss it.

[ he shakes his head. ] I need to go back home. I’m sure the one I fell into will open again. I have to be patient.
