I would hope so. I have high hopes, but I have been disappointed before.

[Now why does it have a face? Hmmm.

The caterpillar thingie slides back a few feet at being hit buy a wave. It doesn't roar as much as shriek though not loudly. Not loudly at all for something of its size.

At the water burst it seems to become a little distraught, flailing about and looking around for ... something. Part of its tactics is to drop crumbling walls on its opponents but its seems as if this flat surface has no such buildings. For shame!

So it summons meteors from the heavens upon him instead as it rushes forward full of teeth to bite.

Emet is absolutely not helping. Actually he simply tsks at the monster when it seems confused at the lack of building fodder.]

Now where did you get the idea that I enjoyed fighting?

You don't try, you mean.

[The interior of the monster is quite squishy as one would expect, warm, after getting through the leathery hide. But it has something else, something, cold. Not physically, of course. But that chill, that dread, what is it again...

Ah.

It feels like it is made of fear.]

I said exactly what I meant. Though I must applaud your resiliency thus far.

[And the creature does howl and shake at being stabbed so deeply and thrashes about. But then there is a tasty hydro user right there in front of him, so it tries to turn its head and bit him half at the middle.]

[No one told him it was a murder double date, okay?

He can indeed stun it. Also while it has many legs, dexterity is not its best stat. Though it does seem to grow a little. Was it the fear it felt? Or perhaps the token damage that it did to him?]

Why would it not? You do seem popular in that regard. The irresistible urge to bite.

[Did he expect Emet not to give two bit commentary?]

[The First Doom does begin to look more like a porcupine than a caterpillar. And it hisses a great sound that sounds more like a chorus of human voices than anything. And then it charges, being faster than anticipated (wait, maybe dex isn't its dump stat), dripping water and spark so of electricity as it goes.

In other words, it uses 'Trample'.]

You are not that daft. I'm sure you can puzzle out the meaning.

[Though he makes the most put out sound at getting wet, giving him a look which he probably enjoys. Though he just wills himself to be dry because dreams and he's just like that.

He does look more like a spear museum as time goes one and it does continue to thrash and try to bite. A leg here. And arm there. His head. To all varying degrees of ... well ... not success. But one spear does get it in the idea and it does thrash about wildly and then uses the attack which was most effective.

Trample.

Though it can't see and this platform doesn't have guard rails, so the result is as expected. The question is does he get a +1 to this date.]

Oh, I'm quite sure it was before that.

[Well, he's not a person that expends effort if he doesn't have to so he'll keep the wet rat look for the moment.

The creature does fall further and further and further away. Maybe it hits the planet below? Who knows!

He was about to say something, but gives him a look for the last comment and snaps his fingers.

The platform begins to crack pieces breaking off.]

I did.

[The platform is becoming smaller and smaller! So come cuddle!]

I am actually not upset. I want him to flourish, however, he chooses.

[Okay. Maybe he is a little jealous but at least he's aware enough to know it is on him. But that doesn't mean he won't be a little petty.]

But you wanted something exciting to fight. Though truly I imagine you simply want adrenaline to pour through your veins. To bask in it. To feel that moment of uncertainty if victory is assured.

Is that so? Then I suppose you ought to know something.

[He leans in tilting his head and speaking directly into his ear.]

... You are a bit too young for me.

[And then he puts both hand on his chest and shoves.]

I thought this was your definition of fun.

[Well, the shoving is unsuccessful, but the rest of the platform does give away, but Emet has a feeling that he won't be the only one floating in midair.]

[He is more amused than anything at the pat. At the change in look. The teeth.]

How curious. You grow more intriguing.

[Guess the both of them are simply going to float in the air.]

You seem under the impression that I'm going to make a good playmate for fighting.

Would you believe I came from a peaceful utopia? Battles such as this were for recreation and academics only.

Besides, I would hardly play fair.

[And he won't! Caeli will feel something in his head trying to 'push' his personality down. Not squash or destroy it, but simply wrap it in a cocoon. An inaccessible cocoon.]

You wanted something to fight. I wanted to recall something appropriately... disturbing.

[That is curious! The thing in his head circles it, more academically than trying to injure it, poking and prodding.]

Now what is this?

A monster born of fear. Was that not apparent?

[He'll pull back when it gets agitated enough to lash out not wanting to dig deeper into that for the moment.]

The blight surrounding your soul.
