In Japanese ( 3:15-8:45 ). In English. ( Aether is doing a sneak and, oops, he steps on some glass. Both him and his floating companion are spotted by the Millelith Guard and so they immediately try making a break for it. )
Millelith: They're here! Arrest them. ( A number of guards join the chase and eventually aether is backed into a corner, several swords pointed at him. ) There's nowhere to run.
( Aether summons his own sword, ready to fight, but- )
???: Hey buddy - Hold still. ( Caeli/Mora/Whatever appears out of nowhere firing a number of Hydro infused arrows, disarming the Millelith. Once he lands he summons a couple of Hydro blades and proceeds to kick all the Millelith ass. )
( But Millelith reinforcements race upon the scene! )
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Come with me. ( He motions for Aether and Paimon to follow him to safety. )
Aether: Just what muscles does magical floating use exactly?
Paimon: So insensitive! You have no idea just how tiring floating arou- wait! ( She turns, suddenly remembering that Caeli/Mora/Whatever is standing there. ) Just who are you exactly?
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Call me ββββββ.
Paimon: ββββββ? What, so we're supposed to dote on you?
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Haha, no no, not at all. It's an alias of sorts. In Mondstadt, I don't suppose you came across a "βββββββ" by any chance?
Paimon: βββββββ... ββββββ... you're Fatui! One of the Harbingers!
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Oh, no. Don't worry, I'm not looking for a fight. βββββββ gave you quite the bad impression huh? Tsk, that woman... can't say I'm a fan either. Right, let's forget all about her, shall we? I'm here to help you.
Aether: I don't need help from the Fatui. ( Aether gets into a battle ready stance. )
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Come now, don't be like that. I'm not a bad guy... okay perhaps I'm kind of a bad guy, but I'm not here to give you any trouble. Would it be too much to ask for you to keep the sword sheathed?
( After a moment's hesitation Aether decides not to draw his weapon. )
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Haha, I thank you for your knightly nobility, ββββββ. I heard of your deeds in Mondstadt, so I couldn't help but notice you during the proceedings back there. And because I had my eye on you the whole time, I know it wasn't you. Someone else was clearly behind it. But... regrettably, given I'm a Fatui envoy from Snezhnaya... there's no way I'd be trusted after something of this magnitude. The ruling Qixing of Liyue has always been overly suspicious of us.
Paimon: Well can you honestly blame them?
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Hahaha. Guess I shouldn't try to deny that. Okay, sure. Maintaining a distance between strangers is probably a good idea. Either way, I'm already used to it at this stage. But right now, if you want to clear yourselves of any suspicion - you need to get yourselves to the Northland Bank. Staying here isn't an option. As the old Liyue saying goes: "The walls have ears".
In Japanese. In English. ( In this memory Childe is penning a letter to his sister, Tonia, and as he does so he's remembering a number of fun encounters he had with an assortment of different adversaries. )
( It's memories within a memory - memoryception! )
Dearest sister,
I've been away for so long, I've almost forgotten the cold of our home. You know I grow restless when life is ordinary and boring. Though in Liyue, fuses of excitement can be found everywhere... just waiting for the right spark. Your brother has just been taking care of some trivial matters here, really. But, βββββ, rest assured... the future the Tsarista desires, the future the people of Snezhnaya desire... it will be had...
In English ( 0:00 - 4:25 ). ( It opens with Aether, Paimon, Childe, and Teucer standing in the middle of what looks like a strange factory. )
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Phew, back together at last. You're not hurt, are you, ββββββ?
Teucer: Hurt? No way. This was really fun!
Paimon: Fun for you, maybe - we were all scared to death...
Teucer: What's over there... Wow, this room is huge! Is this where Mr. Cyclops takes his friends when they come to visit?
( Caeli/Mora/Whatever bites back an exasperated sigh as he mentally kicks his own ass, but he slaps on a smile and continues: )
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: It is. Impressive, isn't it? Now, how about a little game of hide-and-seek?
Teucer: Uh... Now? But...
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Hehe... I have a surprise for you, you know.
Teucer: A surprise! What sort of surprise?
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Don't worry, you'll have the chance to look for it later. But before that, you have to close your eyes, turn around, and count down from 60.
Teucer: Okay... 60 is a really long time, though.
( Caeli/Mora/Whatever goes into the adjacent room to take care of all the Ruin Guards, so they don't have a chance to hurt his brother who wants to get a closer look because Mr. Cyclops!!! Just as his brother is reaching the end of the countdown the machinery turns on and brings three more Ruin Guards, all of which immediately activate. )
Teucer: 3... 2... 1...
( Aether is visibly concerned, because this. is. bad. )
Teucer: Okay, you ready?
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Give me another ten seconds, Teucer... Still hiding...
Teucer: Hmph! Now who's the cheater! Alright, ten seconds, that's it...
( Aether is still in the midst of having a minor panic attack, looking between Teucer and Caeli/Mora/Whatever, who can only smile and laugh helplessly. Just as one of the Ruin Guards is about to beat him to a pulp he activates his Foul Legacy transformation and in the next ten seconds he completely wrecks ALL OF THEIR SHIT with ease. )
Teucer: ...1... Coming, ready or not!
( Teucer FINALLY turns around to find a number of Ruin Guards scattered around the enormous room and he happily heads inside to not only look for his brother, but also get a closer look at all of them. )
( Aether heads inside and goes looking for Caeli/Mora/Whatever and THANKFULLY manages to find him first. )
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: It's a good thing that you two found me first... Looks like using the Foul Legacy Transformation while I was still injured took more out of me than I'd thought... I've no idea what I'd do if Teucer saw me like this - look at me, deflated as a burst balloon...
Aether: Was this worth the effort?
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Like I said... I can never pass on an opportunity to test my limits. And that's why I, βββββββββ, am always getting stronger. ( He laughs. ) Anyway, childhood dreams are all too easily shattered. Even if you just leave them be, they will fall to pieces all by themselves. So, someone has to protect them, right? If you make a promise, you keep it, if you make a mistake, you apologize... And if you give someone a dream, you defend it to the end... That is what family is all about, isn't it?
Aether: ...
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Aha... Remind you of something, did I? ( He coughs. ) Ugh...
Paimon: Quit the tough guy act, already! You need to see a doctor right away, mister!
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: A fine suggestion, but first... I have a little something for Teucer. Please give it to him on my behalf. ( He hands Aether and Paimon a custom Mr. Cyclops toy. )
Paimon: Eh, is this... a Mr. Cyclops action figure?
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Indeed. I had it made to order by a smith some time back. I had intended to give it to him on my return to Snezhnaya, but it seems that it would make a better souvenir at this point.
Paimon: Wow... Now that Paimon thinks about it, ββββββ's family are really lucky to have him, aren't they?
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Hah, I'll also need you to explain my abrupt departure to Teucer. You'll help me out, won't you?
Aether: "You make a pinkie promise, you keep it all your life..."
Caeli/Mora/Whatever: Hahaha... "The cold will kill the pinkie that once betrayed your friend, the frost will freeze your tongue off so you never lie again." Ah, that nursery rhyme brings back so many delightful memories. Teucer taught you that one, did he?
It opens with a small boy hastily running through a dense snow laden forest, wolves snarling at his heels. Heβs clutching his shoulder with one hand, which has a nasty tear torn into it, a bloodied sword in the other. Who could have guessed things would turn sour this quickly, though itβs what he wanted, right, the break the monotony of his boring home life.
He runs for what must be miles, praying the wolves get bored, but theyβre starving and, therefore, persistent, so theyβre not about to give up on a meal.
A knotted root eventually trips him up, and he falls, the ground beneath him crumbling and sending him straight into the βcenterβ of the world, also known as the Abyss.
Heβs not sure how long heβs out for, but as he comes to heβs face to face with a terrifying creature. He frantically swipes at the creature, blinding it, as he scrambles to his feet and starts runningβ¦ again. He barely has any time to consider the strange dark and oppressing atmosphere. Itβs something to think on later. For now, heβs just got to focus on staying alive.
It comes to and end the moment he encounters another beast, this one howling in his face and raising its claws to strike him.
It's a retread of the Golden House scuffle, but with the addition of... well, the aftermath. ( Basically the Traveler enters the Golden House and Childe is already there. He commends you for having made it there, but says you're in the way now, so you fight it out. He enjoys the hell out of the fight, even activating his delusion and amping up his power levels, but you ultimately defeat him... or so you think. He pulls a fast one on you and teleports to the Exuvia and rips out the Gnos- oh, wait, it's not there. He immediately assumes that you beat him to the punch and gets incredibly upset, transforming into his Foul Legacy. Traveler manages to wear him down, his transformation taking its toll so he reverts back, but he's got another card up his sleeve... )
It shows Childe summoning Osial, Overlord of the Vortex, in an attempt to lure out the Geo Archon, Morax, so he can take his Gnosis. He says that he wouldn't leave Liyue Harbor to be swallowed up by the enraged God he sealed away all those years ago, and yet... he never appears, instead leaving the citizens of Liyue, the traveler, and the Adepti to deal with it. No doubt there are probably a lot of casualties, because the shit certainly hits the fan, but in the end ( and with the help of the aforementioned ) the Jade Chamber is sacrificed to send Osial back to the depths.
