[ childe’s cheeks color. he loops an arm around scara’s waist and leads him to the elevator. ] I knew you were going to look good, so I made sure I could compete.

[ gives him another kiss. ] I want to bring you to this beautiful garden I found. With the colors of the leaves as they are it’s bound to be really nice. [ and he’d rather give Scara his gift in a place like that, rather than the amusement park or something. ] I can give you my gift there too.

[ he leans a little bit against him, clearly enjoying his touch and company ]

I'm sure the garden will be beautiful, but not as much as you are.

[ childe colors a darker red. ] Isn’t that my line? [ he brings him to the truck he’s got parked out front and while normally he’d help him into the passengers side he’s just going to drag him into the driver’s side with him. ] There’s a shrine nearby too… one that I’ve brought a bunch of stuff too, so we can use it as our own little home away from home. And what better place for me to spoil you, hm?

A shrine? Do you intend to worship me there? I won't say no to that.

[ childe's grin broadens. ] I thought you might like it. But you'll see. [ going to start heading out to their destination. ]

[ He looks super pleased, though he's a little curious about what he's going to show him ]

I won't object to being spoiled, but you know ... I really should do something special for you too.

...mm, perhaps, but this afternoon is about you. [ the earring scaramouche has got on is just a reminder that, at some point, childe needs to punch dottore, but he can put aside his building anger ( and jealousy ) to instead just focus on scaramouche, and making him happy. ]

[ the drive is really nice, since they end up taking a number of scenic routes, the shrine eventually coming into view - all of the leaves colored red, orange, and yellow. ] Here it is. Not half bad, right?

[ the scenic route is appreciated - Scaramouche has always enjoyed sightseeing, after all, and the beauty of nature is something he always appreciates. Once they finally reach the shrine, though, his pupils turn into bright red hearts ]

You really went out of your way to find this for me.

Well you're worth it, Ptichka. You make me really happy... so I want to be able to make you happy too. [ he kisses the side of his head and finds a spot to park. ] We are going to have to hike up to the shrine, itself, but... we'll get a chance to see everything up close. And if you end up getting tired you can just let me know and I'll carry you.

[ he's perfectly capable of hiking, but the idea of Childe carrying him is a little tempting ]

You could turn me into a cute animal to make that easier too, mm?

And if I already think you're exceptionally cute?

[ there's a soft laugh at that, and then he leans in to kiss his cheek ]

That was the right answer. Let's go then. I won't carry you if you get tired.

No? you'll just drag me? [ childe laughs, reaching across to take scara's hand, his other hand going to his waist to hold him closely as they head along the path. ] If you don't have plans later, perhaps we can spend the night.

I don't have plans. And it'd be nice if it were just the two of us for a few hours. ... With everything that happened I missed you.

...I missed you too. [ clearly dottore is making some kind of a move, and childe would be lying if he said he wasn't worried. ] I love you, Ptichka. [ his grip on his hand tightens as he leans down to kiss him. ]

[ he was a little worried Childe would be upset if he saw him wearing the earring, but hiding it didn't feel right either. It's good that things are going well so far, and he's holding his hand just as tight, kissing him back ]

[ as much as he would like to bring it up... it feels a bit counterintuitive to do so on their date. maybe... after. but then it'll seem like he's doing so randomly. ugh!!! he's not sure what he's going to do, but whatever it is doesn't matter right here and right now. ~~later he can have a crisis~~. ] Always and forever. [ he brings their joined hands to his lips for a kiss. ]

[ following the path and ascending a small flight of stairs lands them in the shrine, which childe has made sure to stock with a few essentials. it's like a small one bedroom apartment. sitting in the center of the room is a small shrine, one that vaguely resembles those seen in inazuma, but it's decorated in all sorts of blue, purple, black, and red flowers... as if they'd grown out of it. a 'gnosis' like object is prominently displayed in the shrine, but instead of a chess pieces its topper is a pair of birds ( one with a blue eye & one with a purple eye ) holding the polar star. ]

[ everything is beautiful, but obviously it's the shrine that catches his eyes. He walks toward it, reaching for the gnosis Childe made for him, examining it closely ]

Is that a heart for me?

[ childe follows behind him, ] mHm. I don’t want you to feel like you’re missing anything, like… [ you’re hollow. ] Yes, I made it for you.

Mmm ... I don't think it'll be that easy to stop feeling like that. But when I'm with you, I don't feel hollow.

I... I know, but I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that, even when I'm not around, you don't feel like that...

[ he'll take the gnosis he made for him and kiss it ]

You should get a chain holder for this too. So I can keep it with myself and look at it when you're not around.

[ his smile broadens and he tugs Scara closer, holding him tighter. ] I did actually buy a chain. [ he produces a silver chain from his breast pocket. ] I didn’t know if you’d want to wear it, so I didn’t attach it myself… [ reaches for his hand to set the chain into it. ]

I want to wear it close to my heart.

[ and right next to the ring Pentium gave him. He lets him set the chain, and then ]
